We are bereaved to inform you that Sis. Sheela who was serving at Paliganj (Magahi 1 Zone) went to be with the Lord on 20th Feb at 9:30. She and her husband Bro. Isaac Badal (Ram Nagina) were on the bike, behind a truck and followed by another truck; because of a sudden jerk Bro. Badal lost balance and he fell on the left side and Sis. Sheela fell on the right and a speeding truck ran over her. Sis. Sheela died on the spot and Bro. Badal suffered fracture to his shoulder and ribs. The accident took place when Bro. Badal and Sis. Sheela were on the way from Paliganj to Arwal for a baptism service.
The funeral service was conducted in Jehanabad and it began with prayer by Bro. Rakesh David (DCC/SAC Coordinator) and Bro. Victor Immanuel (Eastern Regional Director) led the service. Bro. Dayanand Singh (Zonal Superintendent, Magahi 1) and Bro. Bindyachal (GEMS Printing Press) shared testimony about Sis. Sheela. The Executive Director Dr. Ashok shared the condolence message and Bro. Nandlal Soren and Bro. B.N. Singh (NET Coordinator) prayed for the comfort of the family.
Then the body of Sis. Sheela was taken to Damua village at around 11 am and the burial took place there. Bro. Jegan (Asst. ZS, M1) prayed for the family.
Sheela hailed from village Sion (near Bhabua) in the Kaimur district of Bihar and she married Isaac Badal who was working at the construction site of GEMS church at Bhabua. More than her husband Sheela began to show interest in the Gospel. Since she was not allowed to go anywhere else, she would go to Bhabua in the pretext of learning tailoring and would spend time with Sis. Amar Jothi who was serving as a missionary there to learn from the Bible. Within a very short time she committed her life to Christ and began to grow in the Lord. When her husband committed his life to Jesus Christ, as a family they dedicated to serve the Lord and joined as missionaries in GEMS.
As a family along with her husband she served in Magahi 1 Zone for nearly 20 years at Paliganj, Dulhin Bazar, Koorta and then back to Paliganj until her demise. They faced lot of persecution in the fields and Sis. Sheela stood very strong and firm in the Lord. She was a woman of prayer and counselled & comforted the women who came to her.
Sis. Sheela is survived by her husband and five children, Sabna (who is married to Bro. Bindyachal) and work in GEMS at Sikaria, Amrita (25), Vinita (20) and Sheelam Rani (16) & David Raj (10) who study at GEMS School, Sikaria.
Please pray that the Lord may comfort the family of Sis. Dharm Sheela, her husband, children and relatives and the Paliganj church believers and co-workers.
